  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar


  1. In a small saucepan, add water and sugar together.

  2. Bring water and sugar to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  3. Boil 1 minute or until sugar dissolves.

  4. Remove saucepan from heat.

  5. Let cool for 30 minutes.

Note:  You may use the simple sugar immediately for recipes such as Southern Sweet Tea or you may refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
